Trieste-Based Design Studio
VYD Studio, based in Trieste, Italy, is led by designer Paolo Dose, specializing in exterior and interior yacht design. The studio has established a significant collaboration with Turkish shipyard Mengi Yay Yachting, creating distinctive explorer-style displacement yachts.
Cabana: Atlante Classic 35
On 31 May 2025, Mengi Yay launched the 34.5m motor yacht Cabana, the first hull of the Atlante Classic 35 series. VYD Studio created both exterior and interior design, with naval architecture by Giuseppe Arrabito of Arrabito Naval Architects. Paolo Dose explained that the project evolved from a 33-metre concept under 300 GT into a long-range explorer yacht with 330 GT, achieving ideal balance between length, beam, and volume. The exterior presents a contemporary interpretation of a full-displacement explorer, while interiors feature refined modern tones with Italian materials and fabrics. Cabana has a range exceeding 4,000 nautical miles.
Twins: Virtus 39
In March 2024, VYD Studio delivered the 39m motor yacht Twins, the second Virtus 39 series yacht built by Mengi Yay. VYD provided both exterior styling and interior design, with naval architecture by Ginton Naval Architects. The bullet-grey hull and white superstructure create a strong, athletic appearance. Interiors feature glossy black-and-white ceilings, pale-colored seating, floor-to-ceiling windows, and consistent white-grey palette with light wood flooring. Twins accommodates 10 guests in five staterooms, with 2,200 nautical mile range.
