Vickers Studio
Vickers Studio, founded in 2015 by John Vickers on the UK south coast, is an award-winning interior and exterior design firm. With roots at RWD, Candy & Candy, and Terence Disdale, the studio has earned multiple World Superyacht Awards for projects including Delta One, Calypso, and Blue II.
A Legacy of Excellence
Vickers Studio was established in 2015 by husband and wife team John and Gemma Vickers on the south coast of England. John Vickers began his career as one of the inaugural designers at Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD), contributing to acclaimed projects including the 55.5m Feadship Twizzle (now Mary A), the 73m Amels Ilona, and the groundbreaking 155m Lürssen superyacht Al Said, then the world's largest volume yacht.
Path to Founding Vickers Studio
Vickers then joined London-based architecture firm Candy & Candy, establishing their yachting division. He designed the 62m Candyscape II (now Sealion) in just four months, earning a Best Superyacht award. In 2007, he joined Terence Disdale's studio, specializing in general arrangements, exterior, and interior configurations on projects including the 162.2m Eclipse, 147.25m Topaz, and sisterships 81m Kibo (now Grace) and 81.8m RoMEA.
Award-Winning Studio
Since founding Vickers Studio with eight staff, the firm has won multiple World Superyacht Awards: for 36m Delta One, 36m Calypso, and 56m Blue II. Notable projects include the full interior refit of 75m Leander (now Meserret III), once a holiday retreat for the British Royal family after Britannia's decommissioning. In 2022 alone, they completed refits of 75m Leander, 88.5m Cloud 9, and 52m Oceanbird, plus new-build interior for Sanlorenzo 56.5m Alma. In June 2025, the studio's first full collaboration with Cantiere delle Marche, Project 2212 (43m Deep Blue 141 explorer), entered outfitting phase.
