Automotive Design Heritage Meets Yachting
Pininfarina, the legendary Italian design house renowned for shaping some of the world's most beautiful automobiles, has brought its aesthetic sensibility to the yachting world. The studio collaborated with British naval architects Humphreys Yacht Design on the Elan E6, a 47ft performance cruiser designed to be particularly light and fast while fully fitted for comfortable cruising.
Red Dot Award-Winning Design
The Elan E6 received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in 2025 for its striking appearance that marks a new departure in a traditional segment. Pininfarina's design reinterprets the look of the Elan E Line to create a strong, sporty appearance dominated by flowing lines. The most recognisable feature is the distinctive black folds on the coachroof windows, which have become a signature element.
Interior and Exterior Harmony
The interior features a juxtaposition of traditional and ergonomic sailing yacht layout with modern sporty lines, colours, and materials. The Red Dot jury praised the design as 'exceedingly elegant and contemporary,' demonstrating Pininfarina's ability to translate its automotive design language to the maritime environment while respecting sailing yacht functionality.
