Officina Italiana Design

Officina Italiana Design, founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, is the exclusive design studio for the Riva brand since 1994. Their 2025 launches include Riva Iseo Super, Aquariva Special, Riva Cento, and Riva 58' Capri, continuing a 30-year legacy of timeless Italian elegance.

Guardians of the Riva Legacy

Officina Italiana Design (OID) was founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, who have served as the exclusive design studio for the iconic Riva brand since 1994. In June 2024, the studio renewed its exclusive collaboration contract with Riva for an additional five years through 2030, signed at the historic Sarnico shipyard once used by Carlo Riva himself. Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi describes OID as 'a renaissance atelier, characterised by an outstanding level of innovation, that has discovered the formula for timeless elegance'.

2025: A Year of Creative Intensity

The studio experienced an exceptionally productive first half of 2025, unveiling five new models. At BOOT Düsseldorf 2025, they presented the Riva Iseo Super, a 27-foot runabout combining heritage with innovation, following the brand's first fully electric El-Iseo. At a starry June night in Sarnico, four more models were revealed: the Aquariva Special (the only Riva to earn the 'Special' epithet since the Aquarama), the limited-edition Riva Cento celebrating 100 Rivamare 38′ units, and the Riva 58′ Capri, first of a new sport open generation. Summer 2025 also saw launches of the 112′ Dolcevita Super and flagship Riva 54METRI.

Design Philosophy and Digital Connection

Mauro Micheli (Head of Design) and Sergio Beretta (CEO) emphasise that designing a Riva transcends balancing lines—it reflects everyday inspiration from travel, encounters, and relationships. In 2025, the studio launched an Instagram page to share this creative process intimately, abandoning conventional yacht design patterns to reveal the kaleidoscope of influences behind each Riva masterpiece.
