At the 2025 World Yachting Summit, Dan Lenard discussed the responsibility of creating iconic vessels and introduced Nuvolari Lenard PLUS, a program branding their distinctive yacht design style.
Thirty Years of Design Excellence
Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard founded their eponymous studio over three decades ago, building one of the most recognised names in superyacht design. Speaking at the first edition of the World Yachting Summit in Monaco (May 2025), Dan Lenard reflected on their enduring success: 'Like in music, once you have released 10 successful albums, the 11th needs to be a success too'.
The Anatomy of a Successful Yacht
Lenard defines yacht success as 'a combination of beauty, proportion and perceivable value'. He emphasises that the technical and economic foundation of each vessel must be highlighted so that any observer can appreciate the richness of the result. With so many Nuvolari Lenard yachts on the water worldwide, Lenard acknowledges the growing responsibility: 'Each new design becomes harder and harder to turn into something iconic, recognisable and, why not, Instagrammable'.
Nuvolari Lenard PLUS
The studio's accumulated experience has culminated in the Nuvolari Lenard PLUS program. Lenard explains: 'This is very common in industries like fashion – where the products are branded by designers, but this is something completely new for boating. A sort of yacht pedigree, designed by us, but that turns our style into a brand'. This initiative represents a pioneering step in yachting, extending the studio's distinctive aesthetic language beyond individual projects into a recognisable design brand.
