Palumbo Superyachts
Palumbo Superyachts, directed by Giuseppe Palumbo, is a global leader in luxury yacht construction born from a family ship repair business founded in Naples in 1967. The group owns Columbus Yachts, ISA Yachts, Mondomarine, and Extra Yachts, and was the first company worldwide to earn RINA Hybrid Propulsion certification.
From Naples Ship Repair to Global Leadership
Palumbo Superyachts' story began in 1967 when Salvatore Palumbo founded a carpentry and metalworking yard in Naples to support the ship repair industry. By the 1980s, hull repair and maintenance became the main activity, building expertise that would later fuel expansion into luxury construction. Today, the division directed by Giuseppe Palumbo is a key global player in composite and metal superyacht construction.
Brand Portfolio and Milestones
In 2008, the family launched the Superyachts division with the Columbus Yachts brand. The first Columbus, the 54m Prima, launched in 2011, marking a decisive step into new challenges. The group acquired world-class brands ISA Yachts and Mondomarine in 2016-2018, and launched Extra Yachts in 2018.
Innovation and Recognition
Palumbo became the first company worldwide to earn RINA Hybrid Propulsion certification with the Columbus Sport Hybrid 40 metres in 2014. The group is now pursuing B Corp certification, committing to positive impact on employees, society, and environment while balancing profitability with ethics and sustainability.
