Azure Yacht Design and Naval Architecture, founded by childhood friends Erik Spek and Onne Logger, celebrated 20 years in 2023. With 37 new builds and 18 under construction, their portfolio includes the award-winning 94m Feadship VIVA, 75m Kenshō, and the Damen Yachting SeaXplorer series, plus groundbreaking work on Feadship's 103m Project 1011.

Childhood Friends, Design Partners

Azure Yacht Design and Naval Architecture was founded by childhood friends Erik Spek and Onne Logger, who reunited at a renowned Dutch shipbuilder before launching their own venture . Based in the Netherlands, Azure combines Erik's hands-on experience with Onne's theoretical mastery. The studio is structured as a flat organisation with 30 dedicated employees—a mixture of experienced yachting specialists and ambitious young professionals .

Celebrating 20 Years of Excellence

In 2023, Azure celebrated 20 years of exceptional yacht design, with 37 new builds in the water and 18 projects under construction . Their portfolio includes the 94m Feadship VIVA (2021), lauded for her clean lines and timeless finish, which won Motor Yacht of the Year in 2022 . The 75m Kenshō won multiple awards in 2023, featuring an innovative lower deck engine room connecting guest cabins to the aft swim platform and a matching limousine tender .

Groundbreaking Projects

Azure's work spans the Damen Yachting SeaXplorer series, the 86m Derecktor superyacht Aquila, and the refit exterior design of 89m Here Comes the Sun, where they added six metres and created an amazing beach and pool area . Most recently, Azure provided naval architecture and building supervision for Feadship's 103m Project 1011, featuring 1,100 square metres of exterior glass and a single deck engine room maximizing guest spaces .
