Axis Group Yacht Design, founded in the USA in 1996 by naval architect Horacio Bozzo and based in Viareggio since 2001, is an Italian engineering and design studio specializing in motor yachts over 40 metres. Creators of the world's first sub-50m hybrid superyacht Green Voyager with RINA Green Star Plus Platinum certification, Axis has won multiple Asia Boating and ShowBoats Design Awards.
American Foundation, Italian Excellence
Axis Group Yacht Design was founded in the United States in 1996 by naval architect Horacio Bozzo before relocating to Viareggio, Italy, in 2001. The studio specializes in naval architecture and design for motor yachts exceeding 40 metres, establishing close collaborations with Italy's premier shipyards including Perini Navi, Benetti, Azimut, Codecasa, Sanlorenzo, ISA, Rossinavi, and Kingship. In 2011, Axis expanded to Asia with a commercial office in Shanghai's Jin Mao Tower, responding to the growing Asian market .
Green Voyager: Hybrid Pioneer
Axis achieved industry recognition by designing the world's first hybrid superyacht under 50 metres to achieve RINA's highest environmental certification, Green Star Plus Platinum. The 44m (144ft) Green Voyager, built at Kingship in China, combined innovative displacement hull design with hybrid propulsion, enabling navigation in protected marine areas without compromising luxury .
Award-Winning Portfolio
The studio's project list includes the 55m ice-class motor yacht Vitruvius for Perini Navi Picchiotti, the 40m 40Alloy for Sanlorenzo, the 70m displacement yacht High Power III (ex. Numptia) for Rossinavi, and the 54m Forever One launched at ISA Yachts in June 2014 . Axis's achievements earned multiple awards: Best Yacht Designer In Asia Of The Year 2012 at the Asia Boating Awards (Hong Kong), ShowBoats Design Awards 2012 Naval Architecture Award for Numptia, and Best Yacht Designer at the Asian Marine & Boating Awards 2013 (Shanghai).
