Stolk Marimecs
Stolk Marimecs is a Dutch naval architecture and design firm founded by Willem Stolk. Acquired by MP Group in 2022, the company specializes in concept development and detail engineering for superyachts, commercial vessels, and hybrid propulsion systems.
35 Years of Dutch Engineering
Stolk Marimecs, founded by Willem Stolk and his wife Tiny, grew over 35 years into a full-service naval architecture and design office. In March 2022, Maritime Projects acquired Marimecs and Maritime Professionals, bringing them together under MP Group to offer integrated project management, design, and staffing solutions.
Comprehensive Services
Marimecs specializes in concept development and detail engineering for high-end shipbuilding. Recent projects include passenger vessels with sustainable hybrid or fully electric propulsion systems, such as the SFK ferries in Kiel. The firm also delivered commercial vessels for NIOZ and Dutch Rijkswaterstaat, a highly customised 21m sailing catamaran, and private superyacht conversion projects.
Integration with MP Group
Erik van Prooijen of Maritime Projects noted that Marimecs complements the group with 'in-house naval architecture, design and engineering services readily available' for complex or unique projects. Willem Stolk continues to support the transition while retiring, ensuring continuity of the firm's no-nonsense approach.
