Laura Sessa Romboli
Italian designer Laura Sessa Romboli creates elegant and functional superyacht interiors, transitioning from residential design to become a key collaborator for shipyards like Amels and CRN.
Laura Sessa Romboli, the founder of Laura Sessa Design, is an Italian designer whose deep-seated love for the sea eventually guided her career from residential and commercial interiors to the world of luxury yachting. For a decade, she honed her skills designing opulent interiors for sailing yachts before making a highly successful transition to motor superyachts, where she achieved worldwide recognition. Her Rome-based studio now focuses entirely on the interior design of custom and semi-custom vessels.
A Philosophy of Client-Centric Elegance
Sessa Romboli's design philosophy is rooted in close collaboration with the client, drawing inspiration from their desires to craft elegant solutions. She believes that regardless of the project, one must never lose sight of functionality. Her work strives for the perfect balance of beauty, comfort, and practicality. This approach has fostered her longest and most prolific collaboration with the Dutch shipyard Amels, for which she has designed the interiors of approximately 20 yachts. Her studio has also enjoyed successful partnerships with other premier shipyards such as Feadship, Royal Denship, and the Italian yard CRN.
Award-Winning Recognition
One of the most successful projects to feature Laura Sessa Romboli's design is the 2015 superyacht Madame Kate. The yacht's luxurious interiors were met with critical acclaim, earning an award at the Monaco Yacht Show for its opulent design, where it was also recognized for its eco-friendliness. The following year, in 2016, Madame Kate secured first place at the Showboats Design Awards for its naval architecture, cementing Laura Sessa Romboli's reputation as a master of her craft.
