Horacio Bozzo Design
Horacio Bozzo is an Argentine yacht designer and naval architect who founded Axis Group Yacht Design in the USA in 1996 before relocating to Viareggio, Italy in 2001. In 2013, he launched his eponymous studio Horacio Bozzo Design, continuing a career marked by award-winning projects including the hybrid pioneer Green Voyager and the 70m High Power III.
From Argentina to Viareggio
Horacio Bozzo is a cosmopolitan yacht designer and naval architect with Argentine roots. After graduating from university, he moved to Italy—his parents' homeland—and began his career in Rome before relocating to Fort Lauderdale, USA . In Florida, a hub of American yachting, Bozzo founded Axis Group Yacht Design in 1996 . In 2001, he made the decision to return to Tuscany, establishing the studio's headquarters in Viareggio, Italy, where it remains today .
Axis Group and Horacio Bozzo Design
Through Axis Group, Bozzo established tight collaborations with the world's most renowned shipyards, including Perini Navi, Benetti, Azimut, Codecasa, Sanlorenzo, ISA, Rossinavi, and Kingship . Notable projects include the 55m ice-class motor yacht Vitruvius for Perini Navi Picchiotti, the 40m 40Alloy for Sanlorenzo, and the 70m High Power III (ex. Numptia) for Rossinavi . In 2013, Bozzo launched his own design brand for superyachts: Horacio Bozzo Design .
Green Voyager and Awards
Axis Group achieved industry recognition by designing the world's first hybrid superyacht under 50 metres to achieve RINA's highest environmental certification, Green Star Plus Platinum. The 44m Green Voyager, built at Kingship in China, combined innovative displacement hull design with hybrid propulsion . In 2012, the studio won Best Yacht Designer in Asia of the Year at the Asia Boating Awards in Hong Kong and the Naval Architect Award for High Power III at the ShowBoats Design Awards in Monaco .
