A prime example is the Endurance 590 from Hampton Yachts, a long-range cruiser engineered for owner-operation by a couple. Guido de Groot crafted the entire aesthetic and functional layout atop a refined split-chine hull developed by Howard Apollonia. The design emphasizes 360-degree visibility from the pilothouse, an open flybridge with enclosure options, and flexible accommodation allowing two staterooms with an office or three staterooms. The 18-foot beam is maximized in the main salon, while bow seating and flybridge alfresco dining cater to world-cruising comfort.
Award Recognition and Collaboration
In 2025, Guido de Groot Design received international recognition when M/Y ONE, a 34m displacement yacht built by Van der Valk Shipyard, was nominated for the World Superyacht Awards. Guido de Groot was responsible for the yacht's exterior design, with interior by Carla Guilhem and naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design in collaboration with Ginton Naval Architects. This project demonstrates the studio's ability to compete at the highest level of semi-custom and custom yacht building, balancing Dutch engineering precision with sophisticated, uncluttered aesthetics.
