Felix Buytendijk

Felix Buytendijk (born 1950) is a Dutch superyacht designer who established his studio in 1980 after studying interior architecture. Notable projects include the 60m Nobiskrug Jamaica Bay, 45m Hakvoort My Trust, and the 91m Evergreen (rebuilt as Attessa IV), with a 1995 ShowBoats award for Lady Tiffany.

From Interior Architecture to Yacht Design

Felix Buytendijk was born in 1950 and studied interior architecture, graduating in 1978. He established his design studio in the Netherlands in 1980, initially focusing on shops, restaurants, offices, and residential projects. In 1982, Buytendijk received his first motor yacht commission, and his studio has since expanded to cover interior design and exterior styling for numerous new builds and superyacht refits over more than 30 years.

Notable Projects

Buytendijk's significant yacht designs include interior design and exterior styling of the 60m Nobiskrug Jamaica Bay, the custom interior of the 45m Hakvoort My Trust, and exterior and interior design of the 91m Evergreen—rebuilt by US industrialist Dennis Washington as Attessa IV. He also created exterior and interior design for Lars, a 36.5m tug conversion. His 37m Lady Tiffany earned a ShowBoats Award for Most Innovative Motoryacht in 1995.

Specializations

Buytendijk has been extensively involved in superyacht refits and conversions, specializing not only in interior and exterior design but also in bringing vessels within current rules and regulations. His studio maintains a significant portfolio of non-yacht projects, including residential and commercial interior design.
