Espen Oeino

Espen Øino is a world-renowned superyacht designer responsible for the exteriors of some of the largest and most iconic yachts, including Azzam, Dilbar, and the Amels Limited Editions series.

Espen Øino

Espen Øino is one of the most prolific and respected superyacht designers in the world. Operating from Monaco, his eponymous studio, Espen Øino International, is celebrated for creating the elegant, timeless, and highly functional exteriors of many of the globe's largest and most sophisticated private yachts.

Iconic Projects and Record-Breaking Yachts

Øino's portfolio is dominated by collaborations with German powerhouse Lürssen. He is the exterior designer behind several record-breaking vessels, most notably "Azzam" (180m), the world's longest private yacht, known for its sleek, minimalist profile and incredible speed. Other landmark Lürssen projects include "Dilbar" (156m), notable for its vast interior volume, and "Flying Fox" (136m), one of the world's largest charter yachts.

Collaboration with Amels & Damen Yachting

A highly successful long-term partnership exists with Amels and Damen Yachting for their Limited Editions series. Øino's signature aesthetic—defined by trapezoidal windows, strong horizontal lines, and balanced proportions—is the defining exterior language of this range. This includes models like the Amels 60, and the newly delivered flagship Amels 80 "PANGEA". This series is praised for offering custom-quality design on a semi-custom platform, with Øino's work providing immediate recognition and elegance.

Design Approach

Øino's design philosophy emphasizes clean lines, harmonious proportions, and a deep understanding of the owner's lifestyle needs. His yachts are known for their understated elegance, optimal use of exterior space, and seamless integration of technical features. His ability to design at immense scale while maintaining a sense of grace and flow has made him the go-to designer for many of the most ambitious superyacht projects of the past two decades.
