With over 39 years in the industry, his London studio specializes in custom and production yacht exteriors and interiors, embracing diverse styles.

American Roots, London Career

Evan K Marshall's journey into yacht design began at age five, sketching boats while boating with his family on various cabin cruisers throughout the 1960s and early 70s. After earning degrees in Naval Architecture and Architecture, he started his professional career in the mid-1980s at Sparkman Stephens in New York City, working opposite legendary designer Rod Stephens and racing regularly on S&S designs in the Newport Bermuda Race and Maxi series .

London Establishment

In 1990, Marshall moved to London to pursue his dream of becoming an internationally versed yacht designer. After three years with Andrew Winch Designs, he established Evan K Marshall Ltd in 1993 on the banks of the Thames. Over 39 years, his focus has encompassed custom and production yacht exterior and interior designs, as well as residential projects. The company has built a unique reputation by embracing diverse styles and tastes .

Industry Contribution

Marshall serves as a judge for the ISS Design Awards, finding inspiration in celebrating colleagues' achievements. His design philosophy, shaped by childhood admiration for American designer David Martin's Pacemaker 31, emphasizes clean, crisp lines and timeless styling. For Marshall, the most rewarding aspects remain the initial creative spark when great ideas take shape, and project completion when satisfied owners receive their vessels .
