New Launch for Baglietto: "AKULA," the Third T52, Hits the Water
La Spezia, 2 May 2024 – Italian boat builder Baglietto has launched the third T52 unit, named "Akula," marking the shipyard's fourth launch this year. The technical launch took place last week with the shipyard's workers present, while the formal ceremony will be held at the beginning of the summer season, when the yacht will be officially delivered to her owner.
The dark grey hull gives "Akula" a powerful, aggressive look. Francesco Paszkowski Design crafted her exteriors, while Enrico Gobbi and Team for Design handled the interiors. Italian Yacht Group, representing the owner, and Fabrizio Loi from Inter Yachting LLC as the surveyor, supervised the entire construction process.
Like her recently launched sister ship, "Akula" features a series of innovations while preserving key elements that have made the T52 line successful. These include the open stern with a three-level beach club and the sky lounge on the upper deck, which maintains close contact with the sea through fully-concealable floor-to-ceiling windows that open on three sides. Notably, the aft area now houses a gym instead of a garage, with the two jet skis and the 5.5-meter tender moved to the bow.
“We are now stepping into the bustling season of deliveries,” commented Baglietto's CCO Fabio Ermetto. “This year, as many as four T52 vessels and two yachts in the DOM133 series will be hitting the water. Although each yacht is part of a specific line, each is truly unique, representing the culmination of a long journey made side by side with the owner. The launch is the culmination of this process.”
