Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced the launch of Haze², the latest addition to its acclaimed Darwin Class of explorer yachts—and the shipyard’s third launch in just 30 days.

“We are immensely proud of the Darwin Class, a cornerstone of our shipyard, with 16 vessels launched to date, including five 102s,” said Ennio Cecchini, co-founder and President of CdM. “Since its debut in 2010, the Darwin Class has united superyacht comfort and design with true ocean-going capability in a compact footprint. Its commercial success has far exceeded our expectations.”

The Owner of Haze² first encountered the Darwin line aboard a Darwin 106 at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival, where he was impressed by the robust hull form, generous fuel and storage capacities, and engineering quality. These features, enabling transoceanic range and extended seasonal cruising without refueling, proved decisive. Supported by Andrew Bond of Fraser Yachts, the experienced British Owner collaborated closely with CdM to refine the yacht’s size and specifications.

Custom elements include a redesigned wheelhouse windscreen for improved visibility, and a concealed tender crane on the Sun Deck—a feature borrowed from CdM’s RJ series. Exterior design once again bears the hallmark of Sergio Cutolo/Hydro Tec, who has shaped the Darwin Class since inception. A bold metallic grey hull paired with a blue superstructure gives Haze² a striking presence.

The interiors, designed by London-based Lawson Robb, embody tactile elegance and layered materiality. Light, open-grain veneers, brushed bronze, mosaic details, and natural tones are combined with flowing architectural lines and linear furniture to create a serene yet dynamic ambience. Lighting design plays a central role, with indirect strips and custom pendants accentuating the yacht’s geometry. The result is a contemporary, sophisticated interior capable of welcoming up to 10 guests and six crew.

At 31 meters in length with a 7.43-meter beam, Haze² displaces 250 tons and has a Gross Tonnage of 245 GT. Twin Caterpillar C18 Acert engines (500 kW each) provide a transoceanic range of over 5,000 nautical miles at 9 knots from 40,000 liters of fuel. Classed for both private and charter use, Haze² exemplifies the Darwin DNA: customizable, seaworthy, and timeless.
