Heesen Delivers a Star: ORION Shines Brightly as Third 2025 Delivery

Oss, the Netherlands, June 2025 – Heesen Yachts is proud to announce the delivery of the 50-metre hybrid superyacht ORION (YN 20750), the shipyard’s third delivery of 2025, underscoring a strong and successful year for the Dutch builder.
Following intensive North Sea sea trials, ORION has exceeded expectations, demonstrating flawless performance, advanced efficiency, and uncompromising quality—hallmarks of Heesen’s Dutch engineering.
Innovation Meets Responsibility
The third yacht in Heesen’s 50-metre Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) aluminium series with hybrid propulsion, ORION represents the next generation of responsible luxury. Her silent cruising at up to 10 knots, reduced fuel consumption, and lower emissions set a new benchmark for eco-conscious superyachting.
Powered by two MTU 12V 2000 M61 (IMO III) engines, she reaches a top speed of 16.3 knots, with a transatlantic range of 3,750 nm at 12 knots. In hybrid mode, fuel consumption is as low as 45 litres per hour at 10 knots. With a Bahamas-friendly shallow draft of just 2.15 metres, she is perfectly suited for diverse cruising grounds.
Crafted for Luxury Living
Exterior design by Omega Architects gives ORION her striking lines, vertical bow, and expansive windows, while Cristiano Gatto Design has created a sleek, contemporary interior tailored to her owner’s lifestyle. Over 37 different materials—from Italian marble to woven leather—showcase bespoke craftsmanship throughout her 499 GT volume.
The interior accommodates 12 guests across six staterooms, including a main deck owner’s suite and a full-beam VIP on the lower deck.
A Collaborative Success
“The delivery of ORION is a moment of great pride for everyone at Heesen,” said Ruud van der Stroom. “This yacht perfectly encapsulates our DNA: precision Dutch engineering, innovative hybrid technology, and exceptional collaboration with the owner, designers, and our expert teams.”
Broker Anton Foord (Ocean Independence) added:
“The delivery of ORION marks an incredibly proud milestone, made possible through outstanding collaboration. Entering the charter market this summer, she offers an exceptional experience defined by performance, elegance, and innovation.”
