Heesen Yachts Unveils YN 20457 Santosha: The First in the New 57-Metre Series
Oss, the Netherlands, July 2024 – Heesen Yachts is thrilled to announce the launch of YN 20457 Santosha, formerly known as Project Akira, marking the debut of their innovative 57-metre series. This luxury superyacht, with delivery slated for fall 2024, is a testament to the yard’s expertise in custom yacht building and innovative design.
A New Era of Design and Performance
Santosha, the first in this series, combines cutting-edge design with superior performance. The exterior, designed by Omega Architects, features a sleek, elongated profile with a sweeping arch that enhances the yacht's aesthetic appeal. The slightly raked bow and distinctive scooped-shaped stern set the 57-metre apart from other superyachts, ensuring she stands out in any marina.
The yacht offers an impressive 780 GT of internal volume and 400 sqm of luxurious interior space, designed by Harrison Eidsgaard. The shallow draft of 2.3 metres makes Santosha perfect for cruising in the shallow waters of the Bahamas, while her robust performance capabilities allow her to reach speeds of 22 knots and achieve a transatlantic range of 3,900 nautical miles at 13 knots.
Luxury Meets Sustainability
Santosha’s interiors reflect a sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance, meticulously crafted to meet the owners' vision. The design incorporates sustainable materials, including recycled wood, performance leather, and art silk carpets. The free-flowing layout is accentuated by a neutral color palette, creating an elegant yet functional environment.
The nearly 70 sqm owner’s apartment is a highlight, featuring a study, full-beam stateroom, and a bathroom inspired by the Garden of Eden, adorned with Calacatta Sponda marble and bespoke artwork. The snake, a symbolic creature for the owners, is intricately woven into the design, representing transformation and renewal.
Innovative Features
The yacht is equipped with a glass elevator, a 35 sqm beach club, and a state-of-the-art sky lounge with woven leather accents and curved wallpapers that reflect natural light. The guest quarters are designed with both comfort and style in mind, featuring light, elegant aesthetics, curated art, and contemporary photography that add playful elements to the serene atmosphere.
Technical Mastery
Crafted from aluminium, the Heesen 57-metre series features an ultra-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) developed by van Oossanen Naval Architects. The hull design, engineered by Heesen’s in-house team, optimizes performance while maintaining exceptional fuel efficiency. Powered by two MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines, Santosha is not only a luxurious retreat but also a high-performance vessel.
Mark Cavendish, Heesen’s Chief Commercial Officer, remarked, “Santosha exemplifies the fine balance between elegance and practicality, offering a relaxed ambiance without compromising on luxury or performance. This yacht is a true reflection of Heesen’s commitment to innovation and excellence in yacht building.”
