At the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show, Feadship celebrated its 75th Diamond Anniversary with the unveiling of its latest concept yacht, named "C". This 75-meter vessel, designed by Feadship's Studio De Voogt, takes inspiration from carbon, the elemental basis of diamonds, reflecting the brand's rich history and visionary design. The yacht's name, “C,” cleverly plays on the chemical symbol for carbon, while also referencing "sea."
Key design features of C include:
Diamond-Inspired Exterior: The yacht’s intricate faceted design mimics the reflective patterns of a cut diamond, bringing light into expansive glass surfaces and creating a visually striking profile.
Light-Filled Interior: The innovative design incorporates an atrium and broad use of glass to create a fluid, bright interior. It blurs the line between the exterior and interior, and the decks are offset to create a seamless transition between different living areas.
Advanced Amenities: The yacht features a unique atrium, a floating star lift, an enclosed sea lounge on the lower deck, and a luxurious duplex owner’s suite. Other highlights include a private observation deck with an articulating crow’s nest and matching hexagonal infinity pools.
Technological Innovations:
The yacht is powered by a fully electric propulsion system with contra-rotating propellers, which offers 30% greater efficiency compared to traditional systems. This follows on from the design of the Feadship Savannah and the Breathe concept.
Fuel Efficiency and Sustainability: C uses methanol-powered fuel cells complemented by lithium-metal batteries for a clean, sustainable cruising experience. Additionally, wave-actuated fins generate supplemental energy for onboard operations, making the vessel one of the most eco-friendly of its size.
At normal cruising speed, C can reach 14 knots using only fuel cells and can achieve 17 knots by tapping into battery power.
