Flexplorer 165 Sold to U.S. Client: Another Milestone in Custom Luxury Yacht Crafting

Ancona, Italy – August 2024 – Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) is delighted to announce the sale of the second Flexplorer 165 to a discerning U.S. client, marking another significant achievement for the shipyard. This project highlights CdM’s unparalleled expertise in creating bespoke, high-performance yachts tailored to the unique preferences of each owner.

A New Standard in Innovation and Customization

The Flexplorer 165 is a testament to CdM’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of yacht design and functionality. The latest model will feature a range of customizations, reflecting the owner’s distinctive vision. Among these is the inclusion of a standard pickleball court—a unique request that has required significant structural modifications to the original design. The solution involves an extended Upper deck overhang and a light, carbon fiber structure encircling the court to prevent balls from falling overboard. The design includes two dedicated spectator areas: one adjacent to the court on the Upper deck and another offering a panoramic “sky-view” from the Sun deck.

Innovative Features and High-Performance Design

To meet the owner’s active lifestyle, the Flexplorer 165 is equipped with various recreational and wellness facilities. The Upper deck is also equipped for touch-and-go operations of an EC130 helicopter, adding to the yacht’s versatility. The extended Upper deck creates a shaded area on the Main deck, which houses a 7-meter tender and jet skis, deployed with an overhead crane. This space can transform into a luxurious outdoor lounge, complete with a bar, heated pool, and collapsible bulwarks.

The yacht also boasts two storage areas for recreational equipment, ensuring that the owner is well-prepared for adventures both on water and land. The lower deck features four guest cabins, while the owner’s cabin occupies the main deck. The yacht also includes accommodations for the crew in five cabins, plus a captain’s cabin.

Wellness and Performance Excellence

Accessibility and wellness are central to the design, with an elevator serving the lower, main, and upper decks. The Upper deck features a gym and massage area, while the Sun deck offers a thermal therapy area with a sauna and an ice tub pool.

Performance-wise, the Flexplorer 165 is powered by two Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines, delivering a maximum speed of 15 knots and an impressive range of 4800 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Collaboration and Expertise

This extraordinary project has been made possible through the collaboration of key industry experts. Christian Bakewell of Burgess introduced the client, while HydroTec provided innovative exterior design and naval architecture. The sophisticated interior design is crafted by Design Unlimited.

Carlo Aquilanti, CdM’s Sales Manager, commented, “It’s been a privilege to work with the Owner on this project. The Flexplorer 165 is a perfect match, seamlessly integrating his favorite sports and lifestyle into a no-compromise design.”

Conclusion

The sale of the second Flexplorer 165 underscores CdM’s ability to meet highly specialized demands, solidifying its reputation for delivering top-tier, bespoke yachts that exceed the expectations of the most demanding clients.
