CRN UNVEILS A NEW FULL-CUSTOM 70-METRE SUPERYACHT
Ancona, September 4, 2023 – CRN proudly announces the construction of its latest masterpiece: M/Y 145 Project Thunderball, a fully custom 70-metre steel and aluminium superyacht. Designed, engineered, and built to the highest standards, this exceptional vessel embodies bespoke craftsmanship and innovation.
CRN M/Y 145 is the result of a remarkable collaboration between CRN’s renowned shipbuilding expertise, Vripack, which developed the exterior styling and naval architecture, and Nauta Design, responsible for the interior design and outdoor furnishings.
Sold by Y.CO in August 2022, the brokerage firm continues to play a crucial role as the Owner’s representative and project management team, overseeing construction, technical inspections, acceptance procedures, and coordinating external contractors.
A Timeless Design for a Passionate Sailor
Designed for extended, leisurely cruises, M/Y 145 Project Thunderball features an elegant, classic aesthetic with a traditional elongated bow, low profile, and sleek lines reminiscent of a sailing yacht. The hull design prioritizes efficiency, smooth maneuverability, and optimal cruising comfort. As a testament to the Owner’s passion for sailing, the superyacht will be accompanied by a smaller sailboat, allowing for an enhanced maritime experience.
Primarily cruising in the Mediterranean, Florida, and the Bahamas, the yacht is purpose-built as a base for diving, sailing, and underwater fishing.
Spacious, Sophisticated, and Sustainable
Spanning five expansive decks, M/Y 145 Project Thunderball boasts a 70-metre length, 11-metre beam, and a gross tonnage of 1,100 GT, accommodating up to 12 guests and 15 crew members.
The interior design blends heritage with contemporary elegance, embodying a refined marine-inspired aesthetic. Every detail is meticulously crafted to offer an exceptional yachting experience, seamlessly merging classic sophistication with modern luxury.
Furthering CRN’s commitment to sustainability, the yacht features an advanced peak shaving system, optimizing energy efficiency and reducing fuel consumption.
A Hub of Innovation at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard
M/Y 145 is being built at Ferretti Group’s state-of-the-art Superyacht Yard in Ancona, a nearly 80,000-sqm facility that serves as a hub for innovation and excellence. Alongside Project Thunderball, three other full-custom CRN yachts are under construction:
- CRN M/Y 139 – 72 metres
- CRN M/Y 143 – 67 metres
- CRN M/Y 144 – 85 metres
The yard is also home to the construction of other exceptional superyachts, including the first all-aluminium Custom Line Navetta 50, Pershing 140 #04, and the Riva Superyacht Division 54-metre, as well as 27 Custom Line fibreglass yachts currently in production.
