A Studio Born from a Single Project
Cristina Gherardi Design was founded for one extraordinary purpose: to develop the 83.5m Feadship superyacht Savannah. Gherardi, previously Head of Architecture for Christian Dior, received a call from a visionary owner interested in an 83-metre yacht—an opportunity she could not refuse. The studio she established to realize this vision would go on to create one of the most acclaimed yachts of the decade .
Savannah: A World First
Savannah launched in 2015 as the world's largest hybrid superyacht and the first yacht ever painted entirely metallic. Gherardi's complete design authority—styling both interior and exterior—created unprecedented coherence. 'All the space and all the partition are curved, gives you a feeling of the space and how you can float from one room to the other ones' , she explained. The yacht features revolutionary elements including the Nemo Room, half-immersed in the sea, and a secret bow room allowing guests to be among the waves while navigating .
Award-Winning Recognition
Savannah's individual acclaim includes ShowBoats Design Awards 'Best Exterior', World Superyacht Awards Neptune Prize and 'Motor Yacht of the Year', and ISS Awards 'Best Power Yacht over 65m'. Gherardi's achievement—bringing a non-specialist perspective that surprised the industry—proved that architectural coherence and curvilinear spaces could redefine superyacht design. Every room benefits from expansive windows, making the main salon continuous with the deck and ensuring every space has a view .
