Why look at Amels yachts?
If you are looking for a yacht that can take you and your family across the globe then look no further than this proven and rugged precision-built machines built by Amels in Vlissingen in the north of the Netherlands.
Amels’ greatest success is Limited Editions range, which allows minimising the time prospective owners had to wait for their boat. A Limited Editions yacht takes less than 2 years to build, compared with the 4 years typically required to build a yacht of such size. 52.3m Motor Explorer Amels Limited Editions 171 was introduced in 2007, followed by 54.3m Motor Explorer Amels Limited Editions 177 launched in 2009, and then 55m Motor Explorer Amels Limited Editions 180, 199, 200, 206, 220, 242 and the largest 83m Motor Explorer Amels Limited Editions 272. Until 2019 the Limited EDITIONS exteriors were solely the creation of famous designer Tim Heywood, but in 2019 Amels yachts started working with Espen Oino on the new 60m Motor Explorer Amels Limited Editions 60 super yacht. The yard was established as a family-owned boat building business by Kees Amels in 1918.
Back in 1982, AMELS delivered their first superyacht, the 48.2-metre Amels KATALINA. By 1991 the shipyard had become a part of the Damen Group and a new era in the Amels story had begun. Since 1991 Amels has delivered some world’s most recognised superyachts, with the largest one launched so far being the 83m Motor Explorer Amels Limited Editions 272 HERE COMES THE SUN.
Amels yachts have become proven go-anywhere boats, visiting the remotest parts of the globe and covering huge distances by sea. For example, the 74-meter Amels superyacht Ilona has sailed over 150,000 nautical miles since 2004, and the 55m Motor Explorer Amels Limited Editions 180 GENE MACHINE covered 9,000 nm on her maiden voyage.
