Sea Trials Begin for 120-Metre Amels Full Custom “Project Tanzanite”
Vlissingen, the Netherlands – Damen Yachting has officially commenced sea trials for Project Tanzanite, a 120-metre Amels Full Custom superyacht. This milestone represents a critical phase in the build process, with final completion scheduled for 2026. Over the coming year, more than 1,000 skilled craftsmen from Damen Yachting and its extensive global superyacht supply network will continue outfitting the yacht to the highest standards of luxury and performance.
Project Tanzanite originally arrived in the Netherlands in June 2023, after being launched at Damen’s hull-building facility in Galati, Romania. Measuring 120 metres (394 ft) with a gross tonnage of 6,083 GT, the yacht was recently floated inside the dock, and the commencement of sea trials marks her transition into the final outfitting stage at Damen’s main shipyard in Vlissingen City.
