Flexplorer 146 Nasiba Delivered: A Pioneering Milestone in Health-Conscious Design
Cantiere delle Marche and Winch Design announce the delivery of Nasiba, the third hull in the 44M Flexplorer 146 series. Driven by the Owners' commitment to wellbeing, her bespoke interior sets a new benchmark and reflects the builder's expertise in constructing highly custom, long-range explorer yachts.
A Collaboration Redefining Luxury
“The delivery of Nasiba marks not only a technical and design achievement but also a deeply meaningful collaboration,” says Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and CEO of CdM. “We are incredibly grateful to the owner for entrusting us with such a visionary brief, one that redefines the very principles of luxury through a lens of wellbeing and sustainability.”
Built in Ancona, Winch Design meticulously evaluated every onboard element against sustainability metrics and global health benchmarks, with input from EcoNest Architects. The result is exceptional indoor air quality, reduced electromagnetic fields, and a minimized environmental footprint.
Design Philosophy: Wellness and Wabi-Sabi
The layout supports a health-focused, family-oriented lifestyle with dedicated learning, play, and wellness areas. The interior is influenced by the Wabi Sabi philosophy, embracing earthy tones, organic textures, and raw surfaces to strengthen the connection between the onboard environment and the natural world.
Features include living plant elements, tactile natural materials, and ambient lighting to support circadian rhythms. An infra-red sauna off the Owners' bathroom complements a foredeck ice plunge pool for recovery.
“Innovation and industry change are accelerated when design briefs such as this are presented,” comments Jim Dixon, Studio Principal at Winch Design. “Accepting that challenging design opportunity has 'moved the dial' of our studio philosophy.”
Unique Materials and Artisan Craftsmanship
The dining area features a table and chairs crafted from 250-year-old wood sourced from naturally fallen timber. A family classroom on the main deck showcases a ‘tree of life’ for displaying treasures and a cork marquetry world map—a sustainable material harvested without cutting down the tree.
A preserved moss green living wall forms the main staircase focal point. The stairway incorporates a sculptural element from an elder tree root and natural clay plaster walls. Wooden flooring is milled with a 3D wave pattern for sensory grounding, and carpets are 100% wool, hand-loomed in Sardinia with natural pigments.
A Vision Successfully Realized
“Nasiba's Owners had a very specific and particular brief for their yacht,” comments William Yates of Seventy Blue, the Owners' representative. “CdM and Winch, with the support of the capable Owners' team, have approached this with an amazingly creative and can-do attitude. This delivery marks the very successful culmination of all that hard-work and collaboration.”
Technical Prowess and Environmental Integrity
Environmental rigor extends to engineering. The yacht features advanced emissions-reduction systems, including selective catalytic reduction compliant with IMO Tier III standards, enabling operation in sensitive regions. Solutions also support lower energy consumption and long-term efficiency.
Measuring 44.30 meters with a beam of 8.60 meters and 499 GT, Nasiba offers substantial capability. With a 65,000-liter fuel capacity and twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines, she boasts an impressive range of approximately 5,500 nautical miles at 10 knots.
This project redefines conscious luxury, proving that innovation, craftsmanship, and responsibility are inseparable.
