The RJ 115 Stellamar Wins Prestigious World Superyacht Award 2024
Cantiere delle Marche proudly announces that Stellamar, RJ115, has won the esteemed World Superyacht Award 2024. This accolade underscores Cantiere delle Marche’s commitment to innovation and superior craftsmanship in the yachting industry. Stellamar, with its striking design by Francesco Paszkowski, seamlessly combines elegance with rugged explorer capabilities. The renowned Florentine design studio collaborated with the owners to create interiors that redefine luxury, ensuring unparalleled comfort during extensive ocean voyages. Sergio Cutolo/Hydro Tec’s meticulous naval architecture enhances Stellamar’s seakeeping abilities while optimizing fuel efficiency. With a remarkable range exceeding 5000 nautical miles at 10 knots, Stellamar empowers globetrotting adventures without the need for frequent refueling or provisioning.
Stellamar’s project pays homage to the finest yacht design traditions while implementing highly sophisticated solutions. The extensive use of glass in the bulwarks and the open stern enhance visual continuity with the surrounding environment. Stellamar’s profile is tense yet encompasses sensuous lines that add unrivaled elegance to her exterior design. Francesco Paszkowski demonstrates that medium-sized dimensions amplify creativity rather than hinder it. Paszkowski succeeded in providing the 35m yacht with spacious areas and luxury amenities while staying true to her explorer yacht’s soul. The RJ115 is an elegant, robust, reliable, environmentally friendly, long-range explorer vessel with unmatched technical equipment that allow her owner, family, and friends to enjoy safe journeys to the most remote and secluded areas of the globe. Cantiere delle Marche has drawn on the expertise of its in-house design and engineering department as well as its long-standing partner Hydro Tec for the naval architecture.
Layout
The interior layout was tailored to the owner family's specific needs, providing ensuite accommodation for eight guests (+2) in four lower deck cabins, and a master stateroom on the main deck forward. A crew of seven has their quarters on the lower deck in three cabins, while the captain’s cabin is next to the wheelhouse on the upper deck. A cleverly designed layout offers easy circulation and a functional connection between the decks, with all exterior staircases thoughtfully positioned on the port side, accompanied by spacious walkways. Great emphasis has been given to outdoor areas with large lounging/dining spaces on all decks. Even when indoors, the vast windows in the main and upper salons maintain a visual connection with the sea.
Interior Design & Decoration
The owners were deeply involved in the project, with one of them, an architect, contributing significantly to its development. The yacht’s interior design and decoration feature soft shapes and a neutral color palette, with textures of wood and fabrics echoing natural materials. The interior decoration creates warm and welcoming environments, using bright natural oak for flooring and ceilings and cream leather wall paneling. Paszkowski, in collaboration with Margherita Casprini, designed all fixed furniture and, together with the owners, selected most of the loose furniture and accessories. Notable pieces include Arpège Meridienne sofas by Christian Liaigre in the main salon lounging area, a Poliform Saint Germain sofa in the skylounge, Poltrona Frau's Archibald armchairs, and Cassina Hola chairs in the dining area with a Breccia Aurora marble-topped table. All bathrooms share a bright and relaxing mood with matte white statuary Carrara marble and natural oak. The owner’s bath features a bathtub, a hammam in the shower stall to port side, and an infrared sauna on the opposite side.
Main Technical Features
The RJ115 is a full-displacement explorer vessel with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. With a total length of 35 meters and a beam of 7.50 meters, she has a displacement of 283 tons at full load. Twin heavy-duty Caterpillar C18 Acert engines, each producing 533kW and complying with US EPA Tier 3 and IMO Tier II emission standards, power the vessel. The 45,000-liter fuel tanks enable a range of over 5000 nautical miles at an economical speed of 10 knots. Stability is ensured by a purposefully designed hull geometry and electric-driven stabilizers.
