Feadship Project 713: A Milestone in Environmental Sustainability

The newly launched 59.50-metre Project 713, with its elegant blue-grey hull and white superstructure, represents a significant step in Feadship’s commitment to becoming climate neutral by 2030. Following in the footsteps of previous eco-friendly projects like Obsidian and Project 821, Project 713 exemplifies Feadship’s dedication to meeting the long-term environmental and social sustainability expectations of its stakeholders.

Designed by Studio De Voogt, the yacht features a beautifully balanced exterior profile, while Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design crafted its contemporary interior. Project 713 stands out as the first Feadship equipped with solar cells for auxiliary power generation. It is also fitted with diesel-electric propulsion and can operate on non-fossil HVO fuel, similar to other recent Feadship builds. The hull is optimized for cruising speed rather than top speed, enhancing fuel efficiency.

The solar panels on Project 713 are custom-made in the Netherlands, utilizing the most efficient silicon cells available. Designed for optimal performance and durability, these panels contribute significantly to the yacht's energy efficiency, generating up to 24 MWh annually.

Project 713 is powered by a high-efficiency, diesel-electric system, with energy supplied by four generators and a 400 kWh battery for both propulsion and hotel loads. Notably, it is the first new-build Feadship to use FSC-certified plantation teak for all decking, ensuring the wood is sustainably harvested.

Undergoing a Yacht Environmental Transparency Index (YETI) Assessment, Project 713 has achieved impressive sustainability credentials. This label evaluates the yacht's entire lifecycle, and Project 713 scores 35% below the average environmental impact, thanks to its efficiency-enhancing features. The owner played a crucial role in driving the design and environmental impact reduction.

Beyond its environmental advancements, Project 713 highlights the economic impact of the superyacht industry in the Netherlands. This sector significantly contributes to the Dutch maritime industry, driving innovation, craftsmanship, and employment. Feadship's commitment to sustainable yachting not only sets new industry benchmarks but also supports the Dutch economy by promoting high standards of quality and creativity.
