M/Y RJ 155.39 by CdM: Flagship Explorer with Paszkowski & Salvagni Design
Cantiere delle Marche has delivered the 46.7-meter flagship M/Y RJ 155.39, the largest in the RJ series. Featuring a dynamic Francesco Paszkowski exterior and a serene "soft minimalism" interior by Achille Salvagni, this explorer yacht blends high performance with contemplative luxury, offering a 5,000 nm range and full customisation for experienced owners.
M/Y RJ 155.39: The Flagship Explorer Where Performance Meets Poetic Design
"We are extremely satisfied about the appeal of the RJ series," says Vasco Buonpensiere, CEO of Cantiere delle Marche (CdM). "We are also very honoured by the confidence that another of our existing clients has put in us to deliver such an extraordinary vessel... Being entrusted for the second time by such an experienced yachtsman is a source of great pride for our shipyard."
Exterior Vision: Dynamic Lines by Francesco Paszkowski
At 155 feet, the RJ 155 is the series flagship. Francesco Paszkowski created a blend of dynamic design and high-performance spirit for owners seeking a statement of intent. Bold, elegant, and assertive, it fuses cutting-edge styling with advanced functionality.
Its core features include an angled rake bow and expansive window cutouts that project a powerful sense of motion. The superstructure balances fluid slopes with sharp edges, creating visual rhythm. Large, single-pane windows offer panoramic views and flood interiors with light.
"The goal was to push the boundaries further while staying true to the original concept," comments Paszkowski. "It's an explorer with the elegance and comfort of a true luxury yacht." Functional enhancements include ample toy storage and a main tender stowed forward on the Upper deck, a first for the RJ series.
Interior Philosophy: "Soft Minimalism" by Achille Salvagni
Inside, a world of calm and clarity unfolds. Achille Salvagni's interior embraces a "soft minimalism," blending neutral, serene spaces with emotionally resonant details for cultured owners who are passionate art collectors.
The primary material is light koto wood, bringing warm luminosity. Curved panels and enveloping surfaces guide the eye, while sculptural elements inspired by coral or marine life provide organic surprises. The main salon ceiling evokes ripples on water, a poetic gesture of balance.
"The result is not only an exceptional yacht to explore the sea, but also a deeply peaceful, contemplative space in which to dwell," says Salvagni. The palette features soft brushed wood and Rosa Portogallo marble with a peach-skin texture, creating sensorial harmony.
The Owner's Journey: From RJ 130 to RJ 155
The owners, returning to CdM for their second build, detailed their evolution. Their first CdM was an RJ 130, a project taken over during construction which became the shipyard's flagship. "Stability, silence and a feeling of safety are what you notice at first approach," the Owner recalls.
Their enjoyment of the RJ 130 inspired the move to the larger RJ 155. "The basic philosophy had to remain the same... to build the best Elegant Yacht Explorer, but taken to the next level." They again partnered with Paszkowski for the exterior and chose Salvagni for the interior, seeking an elegant, essential style without unnecessary flash.
Technical Excellence: The Captain's Perspective
Captain Gabriele Carniglia outlined the custom technical specifications. Key owner requests included greater autonomy, higher cruising speeds with low consumption, large storage and refrigeration, a potable water purification system, and advanced waste management.
The wheelhouse features a semi-integrated Furuno and Böning dashboard with a thermal camera for safety. The engine room includes a separate control room. Power comes from twin Caterpillar C32 engines (895kW each), with two 110 kW Tier 3-compliant generators, enabling a range of 5,000 nm at 10 knots from a 66,400L fuel capacity.
Deck-by-Deck Layout & Key Specifications
The yacht's spaces are seamlessly connected. The Sun Deck is an expansive, mostly shaded open-air area with a forward bar. The Upper Deck features an aft dining terrace, a forward panoramic lounge, and the wheelhouse. The Main Deck hosts the main saloon, owner's apartment with a large gym, and a spacious galley. The Lower Deck accommodates four guest suites and four crew cabins.
