A New AB 130 Makes Its Grand Splash
Viareggio, October 14, 2024. The latest flagship of the AB Yachts range, the AB130, has officially taken to the water and is undergoing final testing at the Viareggio quay. This striking 40-meter vessel, known for its sleek design and performance, cuts through the waves at a remarkable speed of over 40 knots, while offering spacious, functional areas throughout.
One of the AB130’s standout features is its innovative and expansive "extendable" beach area at the stern—a rare offering for such a sporty yacht. With the deployment of two large aft wings, the beach platform transforms into a significantly larger terrace, blending effortlessly with the aft cockpit and main saloon. When the saloon's sliding doors are fully opened and concealed, this creates a vast, multi-functional open space exceeding 100 square meters, featuring a sea-view pool that can be uncovered upon request.
The yacht also boasts ingenious storage for tenders and water toys. A float-in garage at the stern and another at the bow allow guests to quickly and easily deploy an array of toys, including two 3-seater jet-skis, Seabobs, electric foil boards, and a 4.60-meter tender. These features allow for maximum fun on the water without interrupting life on the beach area.
On the top deck, the expansive flybridge offers sweeping views of the sea and is fully customizable to meet the owners' desire for comfort and social space.
In terms of performance, the AB130 is equipped with AB Yachts’ signature water-jet propulsion system, delivering unparalleled speed and efficiency. Cruising comfortably at 35 knots, the yacht achieves a range of 450 miles, with the shallow 1.30-meter draught allowing it to explore remote destinations, including the Caribbean and Bahamas. For stability, the yacht relies on advanced Seakeeper SK26 stabilizers, ensuring smooth sailing at all speeds.
Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows flood the saloon with natural light, offering 360-degree sea views and a seamless flow between interior and exterior spaces. The spacious, light-filled saloon features more than 50 square meters of glass, enhancing the yacht’s bright and open ambiance.
