Superyacht builder Oceanco Yachts builds luxury yachts from 80 to 110 metres in steel and aluminum. The Oceanco shipyard is located in Alblasserdam, near Rotterdam in the western part of the Netherlands.
History of OceancoSuperyacht builder Oceanco was founded in 1987 after a group of South African investors joined then CEO Richard Hein to begin building luxury yachts in Durban, South Africa. Finishing work on Oceanco yachts was completed at various facilities in the Netherlands. Control of the company shifted in 2002 to Greek shipping and steel magnate Theodore Angelopoulos. He introduced a new building strategy focusing on 80-plus metre superyachts called the “Y Generation”. Oceanco superyachts feature uncompromising Dutch engineering, with designs from some of the world’s leading superyacht designers.
Notable Oceanco YachtsSuperyacht builder Oceanco’s largest luxury yacht to date is the 120-metre superyacht Redentore, which currently is under construction. Designed by Nuvolari Lenard, the yacht will feature an environmentally responsible hybrid propulsion system, which will reduce emissions and improve fuel economy.
Last year, the shipyard also launched Equanimity, a 91.5-metre superyacht that was developed for Chinese owners to strict Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) standards. This luxury superyacht was designed by Andrew Winch Designs in collaboration with the Azure team at superyacht builder Oceanco.
